It's Week of the Young Child!

Week of the Young Child is April 13-19, 2008. This year’s theme is “Bring Communities Together for Children...Children Bring Communities Together.”

VAEYC received an tremendous response to our offer of free materials surrounding Week of the Young Child! 1,200 books have been distributed throughout the state and will be shared with parents and educators at events during the month of April. The four books being shared this year are Literacy Through Play, Make Way for LiteracyColors of Learning, and Building Classroom Community. In addition, 5,000 stickers and 1,000 Week of the Young Child brochures have been distributed as well. Our state legislators will receive a letter from VAEYC in April reminding them that quality early education is the right choice for children and helps our youngest citizens build a solid foundation for success. Thank you for taking time both in April and throughout the whole year to celebrate children and to join together with your community to create better futures for all young children!
